Students’ Union UCL: Measuring Impact

Exploring the impact of Students' Union UCL services and activities on student wellbeing, belonging and skills.

As part of the strategic partnership between the Social Biobehavioural Research Group and the Students’ Union UCL, we will conduct a series of evaluations to transform the Union’s understanding of the impact of its activities and services on students, working across five impact themes:

  • Belonging
  • Wellbeing
  • Agents of Positive Change
  • Skills
  • Enjoyment

By analysing annual surveys over six academic years, the project aims to provide evidence on the impact of Students’ Union UCL services and activities (e.g. Advice, Commercial Spaces, Academic Representation, Sport and Physical Activity, Arts, Intercultural Engagement, Societies) on students. Analyses will explore the longitudinal effects of these services and activities across the above five themes. Additionally, a health economic analysis will also be conducted to assess the return on investment of the activities in terms of improvements in student wellbeing.
