Create Conversations: Creativity and Wellbeing
Join us online on Tuesday, 20 May at 5.00pm for at free webinar on the benefits of the creative arts for wellbeing, organised by Create, the UK’s leading charity empowering lives, reducing isolation and enhancing wellbeing through the creative arts.
There is an overwhelming amount of evidence showing far-reaching health and wellbeing benefits of creativity for people at all stages of their lives. But access to the creative arts is unevenly distributed, and it is often marginalised people who are excluded. We explore this in our RADIANCE framework, which conceptualises 35 factors that act as determinants of arts engagement at individual, community and societal levels.
Create are hosting an online event during Creativity and Wellbeing Week to explore this issue in more detail. This conversation will take a closer look at what makes creative health projects truly effective, and how best to ensure that everyone who needs it has access to the life-enhancing power of the creative arts.
An online panel will feature four experts, including Dr Jess Bone, Senior Research Fellow within the Research Group. They all bring different insights on creativity and wellbeing:
- Prof Ioannis Bakolis, Professor of Public Mental Health and Statistics, King’s College London
- Dr Jess Bone, Senior Research Fellow, Social Biobehavioural Research Group, University College London (UCL)
- Nicky Goulder MBE, Founding Chief Executive of Create
The conversation will be moderated by Dr Jenny Elliott OBE, Arts, Health and Creative Well-being Consultant.
